the staff provided really good service throughout the stay (i particularly appreciated the warm welcome). my room had very nice decor and a good layout. i found the meals in the restaurant to be of a high standard. the building's architecture is excellent, especially its classy area near the botanical gardens.
i noticed that the cleanliness in some public areas was not quite up to the usual standard. this was a very slight negative, as it's usually super clean.

i found the whisky snug accommodated our private dinner well. the staff provided great service. the standard of food impressed me. the cheese plate included a knowledgeable cheese expert.
i thought the breakfast service was not good. there were delays. the continental selection felt similar to a budget hotel. the staff served me an incorrect cooked meal twice. i left without eating anything.
